Dubliners Christmas Book Market

Join us on Sunday, December 14th for the final event in our year-long celebration of the centenary of Dubliners.
On the day the James Joyce Centre will be open for free from midday, with independent publishers running a book fair from 1pm and readings from both Joyce himself and Tramp Press‘ take on the collection with Dubliners 100.
1pm – Book Market begins in the Old Library
2pm – Readings begin with IMPAC nominee Mary Morrissey reading from ‘An Encounter’ in Dubliners 100
2.30pm – Sam Coll reads ‘Grace’ from Dubliners 100
3pm – Fighting Words participants read from Dubliners and their own work
3.30pm – Maurice Scully reads from ‘The Sisters’
3.45pm – Jonathan Creasy reads from ‘Two Gallants’
4pm – Senator David Norris reads from ‘The Dead’
4.30pm – Book Market closes

We’ll also have mulled wine and sweet treats to whet your appetite and there will be a suggested donation in aid of Fighting Words, who do great work providing free mentoring and tutoring in the creative arts to children, young adults and adults with special needs.
