The Ivy Dinner

Built in 1784, 35 North Great Georges Street is situated in area of Dublin that was once the height of fashion in the 18th century! Here in this historical venue of the James Joyce Centre we ask you to join us to celebrate Ivy Day with our aptly entitled The Ivy Dinner!

Join the crafty folks of Gruel Guerrilla and Hunt & Gather while we tip our hats to the incredible man himself. This is an evening dedicated to Joyce and, in turn, his dedication to Parnell. So as you can imagine, it’s fierce Irish!

We’ll be cozying up to toasty fires in beautiful surroundings while gazing out the big Georgian windows on a blustery October 4th! The menu is taken right out of Joyce menu book and is guaranteed to fill the bellies while warming the soul.

  • Mussels, cockles and clam bouillabaisse
  • Dumplings in beef broth
  • Fried oysters, potato farls and stout
  • Sausages and mash
  • Brambrack with Barry’s tea caramel sauce and a good strong pot of Irish tea!

Pettycash will be on hand to entertain with a contemporary take of Joyce like only they can do. With recitals, music and costume they promise an evening full to the brim of politics, poetry and passion.

As an added surprise for our guests the talented Stephen Clare will be on site with his typewriter to punch out improvised personal poems to take home.

The evening begins at 7:00 – 11:00.

This is a BYOB event so please feel free to bring a bottle of wine or beer for your choosing!

Tickets are €50 each

We really hope you can join us,
