Journalist and author Brendan Lynch, who has written extensively about Dublin’s literary heritage, will deliver his talk ‘James Joyce and the 1903 Gordon Bennett Race’ at the Centre on Monday 2 September 2013, 6.30pm. The talk is free but advanced booking is required.

Brendan has published articles about Dublin’s literary culture in the twentieth century as well as on the topic of Ireland’s motor racing history.

As a motor racing journalist he was Grand Prix Correspondent for the Daily Mail and The Observer and has contributed general articles to publications such as The Irish Times, Sunday Tribune and The Times.

He is the author of seven books, amongst them a trilogy of titles concerned with Dublin’s literary history: Parsons Bookshop: At the Heart of Bohemian Dublin 1949-1989 (2006); Prodigals And Geniuses – The Writers and Artists of Dublin’s Baggotonia (2011); City of Writers. The Lives and Homes of Dublin Authors (2013).
