On Bloomsday 2016 the James Joyce Centre presented a very special Bloomsday Interview with literary power couple Michael Chabon & Ayelet Waldman in conversation with RTE’s The Poetry Programme presenter Rick O’Shea. The discussion was held at the O’Reilly Theatre in Joyce’s alma mater Belvedere College, just up the street from the Centre. The conversation on the night veered from Chabon’s love of Joyce’s Finnegans Wake to Middle Eastern politics, Waldman’s (in)famous essay collection Bad Mother and Chabon’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel The Adventures of Kavalier and Klay. Waldman even announced some exclusive details about her forthcoming book, which deals with her experience of microdosing LSD for therapeutic purposes!
